Our corporate clients range from early-stage companies that are seeking development capital after having raised funds from friends and family to quoted companies with market capitalisations of £50 million.
Rather than focus on particular business sectors we seek to assist companies that meet all or most of the following criteria.
- A knowledge platform with multiple applications
- The potential for scalability in global markets
- The potential for a business model that has a significant proportion of recurring revenues
- Investor representation on the board
- A management team which includes industry-relevant senior executives who have had P&L responsibility in companies whose sales exceeded 10 million, and ideally whose operations were multi-site
- Robust intellectual property and therefore the freedom to operate
- A business that competes on the basis of value provided to customers, not price - as demonstrated by achieving/targeting gross margins of over 50% and operating margins greater than 10%
- A model that is fast to profit, meaning breaking even before annual sales reach 3 million
- The prospect of corporate development via bolt-on acquisitions and/or corporate venturing
- Targeting from the outset a business strategy that will be attractive to trade buyers and/or investors in the public equity markets.
Our principal channels for capital-raising are our special relationships with a selected group of institutional investors that have specific interests in early-stage and small company investment and London Capital Investment Partners.
